"We have been visiting the West Fork Oak Creek trail for well over a decade. While it is the same hike, you can take a leisurely short hike or go all the way to the end and back; it's never the same twice. It can be very chilly in the winter and somewhat toasty in the summer. If you go in late fall, the colors of the leaves on some of the hardwood trees are breathtaking! The water level in the creek can vary dramatically, but you can usually cross the creek without getting wet. It is a popular hiking trail, so you'll have company, but you can still have enough space to really enjoy being one with nature."

"Absolutely one of the most beautiful hikes in Arizona. West Fork Oak Creek Trailhead offers a completely different side of Sedona with lush greenery, flowing water, and towering canyon walls that make you feel like you have stepped into another world. The trail is well maintained and relatively easy, making it enjoyable for all skill levels. The creek crossings are a highlight and add a fun and memorable element to the hike, while the sound of the water creates a peaceful and calming atmosphere throughout. During the fall season, the scenery becomes even more stunning as golden leaves reflect off the water, creating an unforgettable experience. Even outside of fall, the shaded path keeps the hike cool and comfortable. Arriving early is a good idea since parking can fill up quickly, especially on weekends. Bringing proper footwear for the creek crossings will make the experience even better. This is truly a must visit trail that perfectly balances adventure and tranquility."

"West Fork is an absolutely amazing hike and a must-see if you're visiting the Sedona area. The trail is well established, easy to follow, and the creek crossings were surprisingly manageable during our visit in early June. Many crossings have stepping stones or logs, making it possible to stay dry most of the way. The full hike is close to 4 miles in and then 4 miles back out, but don't feel like you need to go the entire distance. Some of the most beautiful canyon scenery, clear water holes, and unique rock formations can be found within the first couple of miles. The historic buildings near the trailhead and the beautiful bridge make perfect spots for photos before or after your hike. The towering canyon walls, shaded sections, and flowing creek create stunning views around every corner. One piece of advice: arrive early! We got there before 9:00 AM and were among the last people able to find a parking spot. This hike easily lives up to its reputation and was one of the most memorable trails we've experienced in Arizona."
