Capitol Butte

"Capital butte was breathtaking. It was so beautiful, but also a really hard hike. The trail on all trails is your best bet. The most accurate. I recommend downloading it before heading out there!! Pretty challenging hike. Lots of bouldering, lots of climbing."

"Yah Man! We did it!! Hardest hike I've done in Sedona. Coming down was hard on my knees. But totally worth it! Just don't get stuck and take a hiking buddy, plenty of water and start early to avoid heat stroke."

"Amazing hike with awesome views from the top. Start this hike from the west side, using the Lizard Head Trail for access. The trail is definitely adventurous and not for novice or fearful hikers. The trail is quite steep throughout and offers a few spots where you can look down a long ways. The trail is undeveloped and at times difficult to follow. Take care to stay on trail and backtrack as soon as you are unsure of the way forward. Leave plenty of time to return before dark: getting off trail may result in a fatal fall (not kidding). If you are prepared for all the above and like a little adventure, I think this is a must-do Sedona hike. Perhaps 2.5 hours round trip for quick hikers, otherwise plan for 3 to 4 hours."
